JAN GRUBE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

2025 PROCEDURES

Procedure: The 3rd District Chairman shall appoint a JGVA Chairman (the past Award Recipient) to receive all entries and obtain biographical information on each entry. The entries shall be presented to the Elected Officers for their selection of an Award Winner (1. below) on a timely basis in preparation for the award presentation at the 3rd District’s Convention meeting.

  1. The Elected Officers of the Third Congressional District Republican Party (3rd CD) shall annually select one outstanding volunteer to be presented the “Jan Grube Volunteer of the Year Award” at the Annual Convention of the 3rd CD.
  2. No current Elected Officer of the 3rd CD shall be eligible to receive this award nor shall any person now serving in Elected Public Office. A Nominee may have previously served in such capacities or may have been a Candidate for any such Office in the past.
  3. Any member of the 3rd CD Executive Committee may nominate an individual to be considered for this award by presenting each Elected Officers a copy of his/her nomination that shall include the following supporting information:
    1. Certification that the Nominee is a current volunteer residing in 3 CD and has been so for a minimum of two years.
    2. A description of the Nominee’s Volunteer Activities in County, District and State and National Republican Organizations including any offices and chairmanships held in the Party and any of its Auxiliaries or as an Appointee of the Party or one of its Public Officials. Such statement should describe how the Nominee’s activities have contributed to the growth of the Republican Party and furthered basic Republican principles and goals.
  4. If there are no nominations meeting the above criteria it shall be the responsibility of the Elected Officers to nominate and select The Volunteer of the Year.
  5. The Chairman of the 3rd CD may delegate to another Officer or Past Chairman the responsibility of procuring a suitable plaque for presentation to the Volunteer of the Year as well as a brass plate bearing the Honoree’s name and year of Presentation to be attached to the permanent Jan Grube Volunteer of the Year plaque provided by the 3rd CD to be displayed at the North Carolina Republican Party Headquarters in Raleigh and such designee shall be reimbursed for expenses thus incurred from funds so designated in the 3rd CD Treasury.
  6. This Standing Rule shall be attached to the Plan of Organization of the 3rd CD for reference and may be amended at the annual 3rd CD Convention as part of the Plan of Organization.
